Putnam Pioneer Dies
Michael Kehres, 82 years old, one of the early settlers of Ottoville, Putnam County, died there last night,
after a short illness from infirmaties of age. He was born in Alsace, Germany, and came to America when 18
years of age. He was the father of Mrs. Carrie O’Brien of Lima.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9 o’clock in the Immaculate Conception Church at
Ottoville. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery there. He was a member of the St. Joseph Society, which
will attend in a body.

Charles Reckart Funeral Held at Ottoville
Funeral services for Charles Reckart, 41 years of age, who dropped dead Friday evening at his home a
mile and a half east of Ottoville, were held this morning at 9 o’clock in Immaculate Conception Church in
Ottoville. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery at Ottoville.
He had worked all day on his farm and had eaten a hearty supper. He was leaving the table when stricken.
Heart trouble caused his death. He was twice married. His wife, three daughters and two sons are left.
He was a member of Delphos Council, Knights of Columbus, and Ottoville Branch, Catholic Knights of
Ohio. Both organizations were represented at the services this morning.
