Gasser-Coressel Vows Exchanged In Ottoville
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville was the scene of the Dec. 26 wedding of Miss Arlene
Gasser and Melvin J. Coressel. Celebrant of the nuptial mass and double ring ceremony was Rt. Rev. J.
Frommherz, pastor.
The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Gasser, Ottoville, and the bridegroom's parents are
Mr. and Mrs. Aloysius Coressel, Defiance.
The bride given in marriage by her father, was attractively gowned in a white floor length dress, with lace
bodice and long tapering sleeves. The sheer net skirt featured lace panels over bridal satin, forming a train. Her
fingertip illusion veil was attached to a crown of lace and pearls, and she carried a bouquet of dahlias and
carnations.
The bride's attendants were Miss Doris Elwer, Delphos, an aunt; Miss Phyllis Gasser, Miss Jeanette Gasser,
and Miss Theresa Coressel, Defiance, sisters of the bridal couple.
The maid of honor and bridesmaids wore identical gowns of ice blue, with matching half-hats, and carried
bouquets of variegated carnations and ivy.
For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Gasser chose a green ensemble, and the bridegroom's mother had a dark
floral printed frock. Their corsages were white flowers.
Sixty guests attended a dinner in the parish hall, and 150 guests were received there in the afternoon.
The new Mrs. Coressel is an alumna of Ottoville High School. Mr. Coressel. a graduate of Defiance High
School, served with the Army and is an employee of the Defiance Machine Products.
They are residing north of Ottoville following a short trip.

Nuptials Performed April 4
The marriage of Mrs. Mary B. Beck, Delphos, and Henry Landwehr, Ottoville, took place Saturday, April 4 in
St. John's Catholic Church, Delphos. The nuptial mass was read by the Rev. John Queeneville, assistant pastor.
The attendants were Mrs. Martha Rode and Isadora Friemoth, brother of the bride. For her wedding the bride
selected a light blue suit with harmonizing accessories and a white orchid corsage, and Mrs. Rode wore a beige
ensemble, and corsage of red roses.
A breakfast for the families and close friends was served at the Nu-Maude restaurant after which Mr.
Landwehr and his bride left for a three week trip to Florida. They will make their home in Ottoville.

Miller-Horner Wedding Solemnized April 4
The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, provided the setting for the wedding of Miss Irene
Mary Miller and Donald Horner solemnized Saturday, April 4 by RL Rev. J. F. Frommherz, pastor.
The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Steve Miller, Ottoville, and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Marjorie
Moran, St. Mary’s.
The children choir sang for the nuptial mass at 9:30 a.m. before the altar adorned with white lilies and
greenery. Miss Mary Catherine Heckman was organist and Miss Norma Hilvers had as her vocal selections "Ave
Maria" and "Mother At Thy Feet We'r Kneeling."
Mrs. Robert Tobens was matron of honor, and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Beverly Bockey and Mrs. Julie
Kaskel, the latter a sister of the bride.
The bride was gowned in Chantilly lace and nylon tulle over satin. Hand clipped lace framed the sabrina
neckline, and the bodice was fitted with long tapering sleeves. The floor length skirt had a lace peplum over tiers
of tulle ruffles. A lace pillbox held the veil of illusion, and she carried a crescent-shaped arrangement of pink
roses and lilies of the valley.
The attendants all wore white nylon frocks embossed with lavender flowers. The bouffant skirts were ballerina
length, and they had rounded necklines and cummerbunds. They wore crowns of lavender flowers and carried
bouquets in the same shade.
The best man was Don Detrick, and ushers were Jim Finke and Eldon Asherman.
The bride's mother chose for the ceremony a wine colored frock and the bridegroom's mother was dressed in
rose. Their corsages were white orchids.
A dinner for 100 guests was followed by a reception for 400 held in the Ottoville parish hall.
When the couple left for a western trip the bride had changed to a black wool suit with white accessories and wore
pink roses.
They will make their home in Payne. The bride was employed until recently in the office of the Oriental Rug
Co., Lima, and is an Ottoville High School alumni.
The bridegroom attended the University of Minnesota, and is with Aarnsworth Electronic in Ft. Wayne,
following three years Army service.

Wedding Solemnized Saturday
Miss Marie Margaret Gasser and Bernard Mark Gerdeman were married at a nuptial mass solemnized
Saturday morning, April 18 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. The Rt. Rev. J. F. Frommherz
was celebrant.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gasser are parents of the bride, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs.
Theodore Gerdeman, Delphos. Bouquets of all white flowers were used at the main altar.
The bride wore an attractive floor length gown of embroidered nylon net designed with Queen Anne collar
trimmed with sequins and pearls, long sleeves and full' flounced skirt over hoops. Her veil of illusion was double
tiered and trimmed with the sequins and pearls, and she carried an orchid.
The attendants were Miss Joan Gerdeman, maid of honor; Miss Martha Becker, Miss Jenny Gasser, and Miss
Mariene Hammer. They all wore identical gowns of mint green with overdress of Frosted nylon, made in ballerina
length. The dresses had rounded necklines and cummerbunds, and they wore matching half hats and carried
white carnations.
Frank Gasser was best man, and ushers were Gene Gerdeman and Gene Wurth.
The bride's mother wore a navy and white ensemble, and the bridegroom's mother had a Dior blue frock.
Their flowers were white roses.
A dinner at the VFW Hall was followed by a reception for 300 guests in the parish hall. Later the couple left
for a southern trip and will make their home at 104 ½ S. Jefferson, in Delphos where the bridegroom is employed
by the Delphos Mfg. Co. The bride attended Ottoville High School and the bridegroom Delphos St. Johns High
School.

Miss Dolores Gasser Becomes Bride
Miss Dolores Mary Gasser and Harold J. Rieman were united in marriage Saturday in an impressive
ceremony solemnized by the Rev. Herman Fortman in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Ottoville at 8:30
a.m.
The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. William Gasser Sr., Ottoville and the bridrgroom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Cletus F. Rieman, Kalida.
White gladioli adorned the altar for the nuptial mass, and Miss Mary Catherine Heckman was organist. The
bride's dress was a floor length three tiered frock of Chantilly lace. The bodice was tapered and the neckline
trimmed with iridescent sequins; while the sleeves were long and tapering. A satin pleated midriff culminated in a
bustle back, and her veil of illusion was attached to a queen's crown trimmed with sequins and pearls. She had a
shower bouquet with an orchid center.
Miss Helen Rieman, sister of the bridegroom, and the bridesmaids Miss Carol Nartker and Miss Virginia Byrne
wore dresses of pink silk organza in ballerina length, made with V back Sabrina necklines with shoulder bows, and
full harem skirts. Their demi-caps of organza petals were trimmed with pearls and had circular veils, and they wore
white gloves and carried crescent shaped bouquets of flowers.
Becky Otendorf, niece of the bride, was miniature bride.
William Gasser, Jr., attended to the duties of best man, and ushering were Gene Nartker and Bill Knippen.
Mike Gasser was ring bearer.
The bride's mother wore a black and white ensomble, and the bridegroom's mother was dressed in aqua.
Their corsages were carnations.
A breakfast followed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bruskotter, brother-in-law and sister of the bride,
and a dinner was served at the Ft. Jennings Memorial Hail. A reception was held in the afternoon and evening
there for 425 guests.
Mr. Rieman and his bride left for a trip to Florida and on their return will reside in Kalida. The bride is a clerk
in the Putnam County Clerk of Courts and was graduated from Ottoville High School, while the bridegroom is a
farmer, and is an alumnus of Kalida High School. For her trip the bride changed to a white linen sheath dress with
patent accessories, and wore her Corsage.

Brickner-Schneider Nuptials Solemnized
The wedding of Miss Sharon Regina Brickner daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Brickner, Ottoville, and Glen
Everett Schneider, stepson of William Joseph, 1308 Leland, Lima, was solemnized Saturday April 11 in
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. The bridegroom's mother was the late Mrs. Virginia Joseph.
Rt. Rev. J. F. Frommherz pastor was celebrant of the nuptial mass at 11 a.m., before the altar adorned with white
snapdragon and gladioli. Miss Mary Heckman was organist and Miss Norma Hilvers the vocalist. Her numbers
included "Ave Maria," and "Mother At Thy Feet Were Kneeling".
The bride was attractively gowned in lace and nylon tulle. The fitted bodice was sprinkled with sequins, with
scooped neckline and long tapering sleeves. The bouffant lace skirt worn over ruffles was complete with deep
duster ruffle at the bottom. Her veil of French illusion was attached to a rhinestone tiara, and she carried brides
roses and ivy in shower effect.
Miss Sheila Brickner was her sister's maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were Miss Sandy Wienken and Miss
Barbara Diehl. The attendants wore frocks of light blue lace over taffeta, made with sabrina necklines and back
interest of ruffles from the waist to the hemline. Their headdresses were matching velvet crowns with circular veils,
and they carried colonial bouquets of pink roses and carnations.
Clarence Helmig was best man and ushering were Arthur Brickner and Bruce Rinehart.
The bride's mother wore for the ceremony a printed sheath with white accessories and had a corsage of
white carnations. A reception followed in the parish hall for several hundred guests.
The new Mrs. Schneider is a graduate of Precious Blood High School, Dayton, and is a senior at St. Rita's
Hospital School of Nursing. Her husband is a graduate of Lima Central High School and is employed by the Dr.
Pepper Co. After a short trip they will reside at 1308 Leland.

Nuptials Solemnized In Ottoville Church
The wedding of Miss Theresa Kempcr and James H. Kramer was solemnized Saturday, April 11, in
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, by Rt. Rev. J. F Frommherz, pastor.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Herman Kemper and the late Mr. Kemper, Ottoville, and the bridegroom's
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Kramer, Ft. Jennings.
Pink snapdragons and white stock with greenery adorned the altar for the nuptial mass.
The bride was gowned in a floor length dress of rachel lace and tulle. The bodice was styled with scalloped
neckline and draped sleeves. Full, lace tiers over tulle enhanced the skirt. Her fingertip veil extended from a
crown of Pearls. Completing her ensemble, the bride wore a pearl necklace and earrings, a gift of the groom. She
carried a cascade arrangement of gardenias and ivy.
The maid of honor for the bride was her sister, Miss Agnes Kemper. Miss Marilyn Kramer, a Bridesmaid and
Janet Kemper, a sister of the bridegroom was the bridsemaid and Janet Kemper, a niece of the bride was the
flower girl. The maid of honor and the bridesmaid chose identical gowns of blue nylon sheer. The fitted bodices
featured boat collars of Venice lace and short shirred sleeves. A band of lace accented the waist and the full
skirts were ballerina length. Their headdresses were formed of flowers in shades of blue. The flower girl wore a
floor length gown of poplin with tiny ruffles extending to the floor. Her headpiece was beaded pearls and sequins.
Serving as best man was Kenneth Kramer, a brother of the bridegroom, and seating the guests were John
Kemper, a brother of the bride, and Ralph Kramer, a brother of the bridegroom.
The bride's mother selected a navy blue frock with matching accessories. The mother of the bridegroom
chose a light blue dress with matching accessories. Both wore corsages of white carnations.
A dinner was held at the V.F.W. Hall in Ottoville and a reception for 350 guests was held at Memorial Hall in
Ft. Jennings.
For a trip to the south, the changed to a light blue suit with matching accessories. Upon their return, the
couple will reside near Ft. Jennings.
The bride is an alumna of Ottoville high school and is employed as bookkeeper at the Huffman Manufacturing
Company in Delphos
Mr. Kramer a graduate of Ft. Jennings high school, has served two years in the Army, and is employed by the
same company.

Koester-Friemoth Vows Solemnized In Ottoville
Miss Irene Katherine Koester became the bride of Donald N. Friemoth Saturday, April 25, in an attractive
wedding solemnized in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Rt. Rev. J. F. Frommherz, pastor, was
celebrant of the 9 a.m. nuptial mass.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Clara Koester and the late Henry Koester, Ottoville and the bridegroom's
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Friemoth, Van Wert. Arrangements of snapdragon and mums were used on the
main altar.
Miss Mary Catherine Heckman was organist and Mrs. Louise Miller sang "Ave Maria" at the offertory'. The
childrens choir sang the mass.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Roman Koester. She was gowned in lace over taffeta and
net made with fitted bodice, long sleeves tapering at the wrists, and full floor length skirt. The illusion veil was
attached to a beaded cap, and she carried a shower of white pompons and mums. Her gift from the bridegroom
was pearl necklace and earrings.
The bride's twin sister, Miss Eileen Koester, was maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Mildred
Wannemacher, another sister; Mrs. Rita Kesler, sister of the bridegroom. They wore orchid, urquoise and pink
crystalette frocks over taffeta, with white medallion trim. They had matching crowns and circular veils and carried
colonial bouquets. The flower girl. Darlene Burgei, had a yellow taffeta dress while Bruce Friemoth, was ring
bearer.
Mel Friemoth, of Newark attended his brother, and ushering were Jerome Koester, Delphos; Hayden Kesler,
Van Wert.
For her daughter's wedding, Mr. Koester was dressed in light blue and the bridegroom's mother had a blue
suit. Their flowers were pink frenched carnations.
A dinner and reception was held for 400 guests in the Ottoville parish hall, followed by an evening dance,
after which the couple left for a trip to Florida. They will reside at 515 W. Main, Van Wert, where the bridegroom is
draftsman for the Van Wert county engineers office, following Army duty. The bride is employed at the Western
Auto store in Van Wert.

Miss Eileen Hoehn and Gilbert D. Kehres exchanged marriage vows in an attractive May wedding solemnized
Saturday morning in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, by Rt. Rev. J. F. Frommherz, pastor.
The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Hoehn, Rt. 3 Ft. Jennings, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Victor Kehres of the same address.
Spring flowers and greenery adorned the altar for the nuptial mass celebrated at 9 a.m. Miss Mary Catherine
Heckman was organist, and Mrs. Ray Miller, the vocalist, had as her offertory selection "Ave Maria" with "Pani
Angelicus" at the communion.
The bride's ballerina length gown was of lace and tulle. The bodice had a Queen Anne neckline cap sleeves
with which she wore elbow mitts, and full skirt with ace tiers over tulle. A double crown of sequins held the tulle
veil, and she carried a shower of roses and gypsophila.
Miss Margie Kehres was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Miss Pat Honigford and Miss Anne Reynolds.
They wore starched white organza frocks with iqua circle trim and cumberbunds featuring lace back bows. Tie
skirts were worn over hoops and they had matching head iandeaus and carried clusters of spring flowers.
Jerry Hoehn attended to the duties of best man, and ushers were Don Hoehn and Richard Bendele.
Mothers of the couple both were dressed in navy ensembles an wore pink carnations.
Three hundred and fifty guest were invited to the reception in the Ottoville parish hall where the traditional
tiered wedding cake centered the buffet table.
Mr. Kehres and his bride left for a trip to Florida and will reside in Ottoville on their return. For traveling the
bride changed to a white sheath dress with orchid corsage.
The bride is employed by the National Seal Co., Van Wert, and Mr. Kehres by the Sylvania Electric Co.,
Ottawa.

Miss Jean Ann Bendele Becomes Bride
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, provided the background for the Saturday wedding of Miss
Jean Ann Bendele formerly of Lima to William Peter Igel, son of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Igel, Columbus. The
bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert C. Bendele, Ottoville.
The impressive double ring ceremony and nuptial mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Rt. Rev. J. F.
Frommherz, pastor, while the altar was adorned with bouquets of pink and white peonies. Miss Mary Catherine
Heckman was organist, and Mrs. Robert Miller the soloist, cousin of the bride, sang "Ave Maria," and Mother At
Thy Feet We're Kneeling".
The bride was lovely as she approached the altar railing with her father, who gave her in marriage. She wore
an imported silk organza gown. The molded bodice was pointed in front and the scooped neckline embellished
with seed pearls and iridescent Ceylon beads. Small covered buttons fastened the gown down the back, and the
sleeves were long and tapering at the wrists. Her extremely full skirt had floating panels trimmed with self rosetes
and pearl embroideded motifs, and was worn over hoops. The front was floor length and the back ended in a
chapel train. Her double tiered waist length veil was attached to a lace plateau trimmed with pearls and sequins,
and she carried her mother's wedding prayer book and a bouquet of lily of the valley.
The bride's attendants wore gowns of Madonna blue organza. They Were Miss Ruth Ann Igel Columbus,
sister of the bride groom; Mrs. Albert Romer, St. Henry, sister of the bride; Miss Barbara Rook, Ft. Mitchell. Ky.
and Ruth Ann Igel the flower girl.
The tucked shirtwaist dresses Matured a small Peter Pan collar and cuffed bracelet sleeves. A wide belt of
satin encircled the waistline of the buofant ballerina skirts, won over crinolines. They had blue organza bow
bandeaux with flower trim and carried circular bouquets of red roses, carnations and white daisies.
Robert Bendele, the bride's Brother, was best man and ushers were Gene Herman, Dayton, and James Krampe,

For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Bendele selected a periwinkle blue jacket suit of linen and lace with white
petal hat and corsage of pink roses and stephanotis.
The bridegroom's mother had a beige ensemble with white accessories and corsage of roses and tephanotis.
Mrs. Anna Schimmoeller the bride's Grandmother, wore a navy blue frock and yellow roses.
A dinner in the Ottoville VFW Hall was followed by a reception at the Ottoville parish hall for 400 guests. After
a trip to Cape Cod and the New England states the couple will be at home at 2915 Sherwood Road, Columbus.
For traveling the bride selected a soft beige suit dress with white accessories and stephanotis corsage.
Until her wedding the bride was dietician at Lima Memorial Hospital. She is a graduate of Ottoville High School
the University of Dayton, and Miami Valley Hospital School of Dietetic Internship.
The bridegroom, a graduate of St. Charles Preparatory' School, Columbus, and the University of Dayton, is
associated with his father in the George J. Igel Co., Inc.

Miss Ruth Bendele And Gebhard Gasser Married
Miss Ruth Ann Bendele, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Bendele became the bride of Gebhard Gasser,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Gebhard Gasser Sr., all of Ottoville, Saturday, June 6. The nuptial mass was celebrated at 9:
30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville by Rt. Rev. J. F. Frommherz, pastor. Vases of pink
and white peonies were used at the altar, and the organist was Miss Mary Catherine Heckman. The children's
choir sang the mass, and Mrs. Robert Miller was vocalist.
The bride's dress of nylon net had scalloped lace panels, fitted bodice, with sequin neckline, short sleeves,
and full skirt of lace over taffeta. Her veil of illusion was attached to a coronet of sequins and pearls, and she
carried American Beauty roses and pink carnations. Her jewelry and wrist watch were gifts of the bridegroom.
Miss Dorothy Bendele was maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were Miss Geraldine Bendele and Mrs. Wayne
Ankerbrunk, of Ft. Wayne, sisters and cousin of the bride. The maid of honor wore light blue, and the other
attendants wore yellow and orchid nylon over taffeta. They had matching hats, and carried bouquets of
carnations to match their dresses. Their pearl necklaces and earrings were gifts of the bride.
Rudy Gasser attended his brother, and ushering were Arthur Plesher and Wayne Ankerbrunk.
The bride's mother had a blue frock, and the bridegroom's mother a navy and white ensemble.
Dinner was served in the parish hall for 50 guests, and an evening reception and dance was held for 250
guests.
After a southern trip Mr. Gasser and his bride will reside on Rt. 1, Grover Hill. The bridegroom is employed by
the Lima Ex-Cell-0 Corp.

Miller-Bockrath Vows Solemnized June 13th
Miss Mary Ann Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Miller, Ottoville, became the bride of David Bockrath, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bockrath, Glandorf, Saturday June 13th, at 9 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church in Ottoville.
The double ring ceremony was solemnized by the Rt. Rev. J. F. Frommherz before the altar decorated with
bouquets of spring flowers which were also placed throughout the church. Nuptial music was provided by Miss
Mary Catherine Heckman,
As she approached the altar, the bride was wearing a wedding gown of nylon sheer and Chantilly lace
designed with short cap sleeves. Scalloped lace fell in circular panels to the hemline and large organdy bows
marked the draped panels in the back. Her fingertip veil of bridal illusion was bordered with sequins and attached
to a sequin trimmed crown. She wore a gold cross, gift of the bridegroom, and carried a bridal bouquet of red and
white rosebuds.
Miss Dorothy Miller of Ottawa, was maid of honor, and Misses Rose Mary and Viola Bockrath, sisters of the
bridegroom were bridesmaids. Junior bridesmaid was Lucille Miller, sister of the bride. Their frocks were
sleeveless and were fashioned of pastel blue silk organdy in ballerina length. The sabrina necklines ended in a V
in the back and soft bows marked the shoulders. Their flowers were pink carnations.
Bill Bockrath served as best man for his brother and escorting guests to their seats were Donald Miller,
cousin of the bride and Harry Kleman of Ottawa.
A wedding dinner was held in the VFW Hall at Ottoville and a reception in the parish hall for 400 guests.
The bride's mother received in a navy blue frock and the mother of the bridegroom in beige. The couple will make
their home west of Glandorf upon their return from their wedding trip.
The bride, a graduate of Ottoville High School, is an employee of Meyer's IGA Store in Delphos. The
bridegroom served two years in the army, eighteen months of which he spent in Germany, attended Glandorf High
School, is now engaged in farming and is an employee of factory in Napoleon.

Niemeyer-Averesch Vows Solemnized June 20th
Of district interest was the wedding of Miss Mary Jane Niemeyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse
Niemeyer of Rt. 3, Ft. Jennings, and Bernard Averesch, son of Ben Averesch and the late Mrs. Averesch of Rt. 2,
Cloverdale.
The ceremony which was June 20 at 9:30 a.m. was solemnized by Rt. Rev. J. F. Frommherz at the Immaculate
Conception Church at Ottoville. The altar decorations were white delphinium and shell pink carnations, Miss Mary
Catherine Heckman as the organist and Mrs. Louise Miller was vocalist. The mass was sung by the Children's
choir.
The bride who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of Chantilly lace and nylon tulle The fitted
bodice of lace featured a pointed collar and long tapering sleeves. The bouffant skirt had five tiers of nylon tulle
trimmed in hand dipped points of Chantilly lace with a chapel sweep train. Her fingertip veil of imported bridal
illusion was attached to crown made of iridescent sequins and seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white
carnations and stephanotis with white streamers.
Miss Ruth Niemeyer, Ft. Jennings and Miss Carol Bockrath of Cloverdale were the maids of honor. They wore

back, were sleeveless, and had a fitted midriff trimmed in three bands of white velvet ribbon. The bridesmaids
were Miss Carolyn Brickner of Ottawa and Mrs. Donald Horstman of Ft. Jennings. They wore gowns styled
identically to the maids' of honor in mint green. The bridesmaids flowers were white carnations and pink
sweetheart roses. The maids of honor carried white carnations and garnet roses
Ralph Averesch of Cloverdale and Jerome Niemeyer of Ft. Jennings served as best men. The guests were
seated by James Erhart of Cloverdale, and John Giesken of Delphos.
The bride's mother chose a dress of blue nylon print over a taffeta pleated skirt with which she wore white
accessories and a white carnation corsage.
A wedding dinner was held at 11 a.m. in the V.F.W. Hall in Ottoville for sixty guests and reception at the
Ottoville parish hall for four hundred and fifty guests was held at 3:30 p.m. Following the dance in the evening the
new Mr. and Mrs. Averesch left for a trip to the southern states. The bride selected a beige nylon over taffeta
dress with white accessories for traveling.
On their return, they will reside at Kalida. The bride's occupation is bookkeeper at
The Western and Southern Life Insurance Co. at Lima. She attended Ottoville High School. The groom
attended the Ottoville High School and served six months with the National Guard. He is employed with the
Sylvania Corp. in Ottawa.

Miss Ruth Ann Schroeder Weds John Kemper July 8
The wedding of Miss Ruth Ann Schroeder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor C. Schroeder, Leipsic and John
Kemper, son of Mrs. Theresia Kemper. Ottoville and the late Herman Kemper was solemnized Wednesday, July 8.
The Rev. Marcus Vogel, pastor, was celebrant of the nuptial mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church,
Leipsic. The double ring service was used before the alter decorated with summer flowers. Miss Agnes
Schumaker was organist, and the men’s choir sang the mass.
The bride was lovely in her wedding gown of silk organza, the neckline was trimmed with Alencon lace and
pearls, and the molded bodice had three-quarter shirred sleeves. Tiny self-covered buttons graced the back of
the dress, and the extremely full skirt had lace motifs and was dramatized with side panels ending in bustle back
above the chapelength train. A scalloped crown of pleated tulle accented with pearls and sequins held her
fingertip veil of illusion, and she carried white orchid showered with stephanotis and ivy.
Mrs. L. A. Schroeder, sister of the bride was matron of honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Mary Kay
Schroeder, another sister; Miss Mary Kay Gladen, a cousin; Miss Norma Niese, and Miss Agnes Kemper, sister of
the bridegroom. All of the attendants wore aqua floor length gowns of silk organza made with fitted bodices and
full skirts, and they had matching headbands. The matron of honor carried red roses and the bridesmaids pink
roses. They were in natural wicker baskets.
Arnold Kemper attended to the duties of best man for his brother and guests were escorted to their seats by
Isidore Kemper, Eugene Schroeder, and Wayne McCauley.
Mrs. Schroeder selected for her daughter’s wedding a blue lace sheath with which she combined pink
accessories and corsage of pink sweetheart roses, and the bridegrooms mother was dressed in nile green, and
had Talisman roses.
Five hundred guests were invited to the reception held in the Ottawa Eagles Hall, which was followed by an
evening dance for which the Country Colonel's orchestra played. Later the new Mr. and Mrs. Kemper left for an
eastern trip, and on their return will reside in Ottoville.
The bride, a graduate of Leipsic High School, is secretary for the Peerless Hatchery and Leipsic Veterinary
Service. Mr. Kemper attended Ottoville High School and is employed at the Sylvania Electric Products Co., Ottawa.

Schmitt-King Vows Take Place
Miss Linda Louise Schmitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schmitt, Ottoville, became the bride of Louis King,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul King, Delphos, in wedding held July 4 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church,
Ottoville. Rt. Rev. J. F. Frommherz read be double ring ceremony and nuptial mass.
Basil Alt, organist, and Mrs. Joyce Odenweller, soloist, provided the musical numbers. The church was
decorated with white gladioli and orchid mums.
Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a nylon organza floor length gown. The gown fetured a fitted
bodice with french sequin scalloped neckline with trim of sequins and pearls o the shirred short sleeves. The
bouffant skirt of ruffle net with a nylon organza overskirt had tying panel appliqued in sequins and lace. Her veil
was a double net finger tip veil caught in a crown of pearls and sequins. Her bouquet was stephanotis and ivy with
an orchid in the center.
Attending the bride were her maid of honor, Miss Kathleen Schmitt, sister of the bride, and her bridesmaids.
Miss Ruth Miller, and Miss Paulette King, sister of the bridegroom. Flower girl was Jane Botroff and ring bearer
was Thomas Altenburger. The bride's attendants wore orchid organza ballerina length gowns that featured
sabrina necklines with V in the back, and balloon shaped skirts. Their hats were double rows of orchid pearls with
orchid veiling and their flowers were daisies with white mums. They wore pearl earrings, a gift of the bride.
Attending the groom as best man was Gerald Baumgarte. Ushers were Tom Honigfort, and Norbert Lindeman.
For the wedding the bride's mother chose a white linen sheath trimmed in light blue with white accessories.
Her flowers were white stephanotis with light blue.
The mother of the bridegroom was attired in a light blue organdy dress with white accessories. Her flowers
were pink roses.
A reception in the parish hall was held following the wedding for 350 guests. A breakfast was given at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Altenburger for the bridal party and a dinner was served at the parish hall for 40
guests.
For her wedding trip to the Smoky Mountains the bride chose a white linen dress. She wore the orchid from
her bridal bouquet. The couple will reside at Twelfth and Main in Delphos.
The bride is a 1959 graduate of Ottoville High School.
The bridegroom a graduate of Delphos St. John's is employed at the Freuhauf Co. in Delphos.

Fischer-Broecker Nuptials Read
In an impressive ceremony solemnized Saturday in immacualate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville by Rt.
Rev. J. F. Rommherz, Miss Alice Ruth Fischer became the bride of Roger William Broecker, Mr. and Mrs.
Lawrence Fischer. Ottoville, are parents of the bride, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Broecker, Rt. 1 Ft. Jennings.
Arrangements of varied mums and gladioli and ferns were used at the altar for the 9 a.m. ceremony. Miss
Mary Catherine Heckman was organist, and the vocalist, was John Weber, Lima.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father She was attractively gowned in Chantilly lace and net
made floor length, with extremely full skirt worn over hoops. The tight fitted bodice had trimming of sequins at the
scooped neckline, while bands of lace, trimmed the skirt. A queens crown with sequins held the fingertip illusion
veil, and she carried a shower of feathered white carnations centered with an orchid.
The bride’s attendants were Miss Marilyn Fischer, Miss Carolyn Fischer, twin sisters of the bride, and Miss
Catherine Broecker, sister of the bridegroom. They all wore pale blue lace and taffeta dresses, fashioned with
white velvet cummerbunds, scooped necklines, and full skirts over hoops and crinolines. Completing their
ensembles were matching blue veils over braided nylon bandeaus. They carried crescent arrangements of pink
and white carnations, and their pearls and white gloves were gifts of the bride.
Mrs. Fischer wore for the wedding a floral chiffon over satin with white accessories and pink and white
carnations, while the bridegroom’s mother chose a light blue frock with white accessories and pink and white
corsages.
The best man was Richard Miller, Cloverdale, and ushers were James Clement, Paul and Charles Broecker,
and William Warnecke.
Dinner in the VFW Hall at Ottoville was followed by a reception for 450 guests in the Ft. Jennings Memorial
Hall. Later the couple left for a trip to Florida. The bride, who is owner of a beauty shop will remain with her
parents until Mr. Broecker completes his Army service. The bride was graduated from Ottoville High School and
Frederick's Beauty Academy Lima, and the bridegroom is an alumnus of Ft. Jennings High School. The bride wore
a red and white ensemble when the couple left for their trip.

Former Ottoville Man Weds In Dayton Church
A wedding of interest to friends of the bridegroom took place Aug. 29 in St. Luke's Catholic Church,
Knowellwood, Dayton, when Miss Barbara Kaes became the bride of Larry Vincke, son of Mr. and Mrs. George
Vincke, Ottoville.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Joseph Kaes. Her maid of honor was her only sister, Miss
Helen Kaes. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, John Vincke.
The bride's gown was ballerina length of pale pink. She carried white roses and wore a shoulder veil.
The maid of honor wore a blue own and half-hat and carried pink carnations.
The bride's mother was attired in a navy blue dress with white accessories. The mother of the bridegroom
also wore navy with navy accessories. They had corages of pink and white carnations.
The bride attended Knowellwood high school and also a graduate the University of Dayton, and employed by
the Dayton Power Company.
Mr. Vincke was a graduate of Ottoville high school and Dayton University. They will make their home in
Dayton.
A reception was held recently in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Vincke.
Mrs. Tip Hovest and Mrs. Walter Schmitt, Carolyn and Cathy Schmitt were hosteses.
The party was given on the Walter Schmitt's lawn, Ottoville. Entertainment was provided throughout the
