Stokes-Wurst Nuptials Held At Ottoville
Miss Anne Wurst is United in Marriage to Norman Stokes in Ceremony Performed at Ottoville
Wednesday Morning — Reception at Home of Bride's Mother — Will Make Home in Detroit.
A lovely wedding was solemnized at the Immaculate Conception Church at Ottoville Wednesday morning at
8:30 o'clock when Miss Anne Wurst, daughter of Mrs. Frances Wurst, of Ottoville became the bride of Norman
Stokes, son of Mrs. Nellie Lee, of Toledo. Rev. Father J. S. Arnoldi celebrated the nuptial high mass. The
church choir sang during the mass.
During the offertory, Mrs. Alex Wannemacher rendered a solo accompanied by F. J. Uhrich at the organ.
The church was nicely decorated with flowers and ferns.
Miss Armella Miller, cousin of the bride, and Sylvester Wurst, also cousin of the bride, both of Toledo, were
the attendants.
The bride wore a charming gown of wine-colored transparent velvet, a fitted model, styled very long. Her
metallic hat and slippers were silver. She carried a bouquet of lilies, bride's roses and baby breath.
Miss Miller, the bridesmaid, was attired in a frock of brown silk crepe trimmed with gold. She wore a gold hat and
brown slippers and carried a bouquets of Butterfly roses.
After the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride's mother in Ottoville.
Mr. and Mrs. Stokes left on a week's wedding trip and following their return, they will reside at 4031 Wesson
avenue, Detroit.
Mr. Stokes is employed by the government with headquarters at Detroit.

Lovely Wedding Solemnized at Ottoville Tuesday Morning when Miss Hildegard Utrup Becomes
Bride of John Pohl —Dinner Served at Home of Bride's Parents — Will Make Home Near Ft. Jennings.
Miss Hildegard Utrup, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Utrup, southwest of this city, was united in holy
matrimony to John Pohl, son of John Pohl, Sr., east of Ottoville, in a lovely ceremony performed at the
Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville Tuesday morning at 8:30 o'-clock. The nuptial high mass was
celebrated by Rev. Father J. S. Arnoldi who also officiated at the single ring ceremony. The church choir sang
during the mass.
Ferns were placed at the entrance to the sanctuary and also on the main altar of the church.
Miss Catherine Pohl, sister of the groom, attended the bride and William Klima, cousin of the bride, was
groomsman.
The bride wore a lovely gown of white bridal satin, styled very long. It was trimmed red with a largo silk lace
collar. She wore a veil of tulle, fashioned in cap-effect and trimmed with rhinestones and orange blossoms. She
wore white satin slippers. She carried a beautiful bouquet of lilies.
The attractive frock of Miss Pohl was of peach chiffon, a princess model. Lace and rhinestones formed
attractive trimming for the frock.
Miss Pohl wore a silver turban, blond slippers and hose. Her flowers were Ophelea roses.
A wedding breakfast was served after the ceremony. A dinner for approximately seventy guests was served
in the afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents. A color motif of peach and white was used in
the decorations and there were pretty bouquets of flowers. A large wedding cake centered the bride's table.
Serving were: Misses Ludvina and Leona Myers, of Delphos; Gertrude Utendorf, of Ottawa; Agnes
Schlagbaum and Donelda Kehres, of Ottoville, all cousins of the bride; Clara Hilvers, Leona Ricker, and Viola
Schram, of Ottoville.
The bride is a graduate of the Ottoville High School, Class of '28. The groom is engaged in farming.
Mr. and Mrs. Pohl will reside on a farm one mile south of Ft. Jennings.

Pretty Spring Wedding Held At Ottoville
Miss Gertrude Martin, of Ottoville, and Lawrence Etter, of this City, are United in Marriage at
Immaculate Conception Church on Wednesday Morning— Mr. and Mrs. Etter to Reside in Delphos.
A lovely spring wedding; was solemnized at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville Wednesday
morning at 8:30 o'clock when Miss Gertrude Martin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Martin, of Ottoville, became
the bride of Lawrence Etter, of Delphos, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Etter, of Dupont. Rev. Father J. S. Arnoldi, the
pastor. was in charge of the single ring ceremony. Singing during the nuptial high mass was furnished by the
children's choir.
Miss Lauretta Brinkman of Ft. Jennings, cousin of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and Mrs. Genevieve
Ellerbrock, of this city, friend of the bride, was the maid of honor.
The groom was attended by William Klima, cousin of the bride.
The bridal gown was a lovely model of white silk crepe with a tight bodice and full skirt. The bride's veil of
tulle was fashioned in coronet effect and was trimmed with lace and pearls. The bride wore a strand of pearls, a
gift of the groom. She carried lilies.
The bridesmaid wore a charming frock of the blue silk crepe styled similar to that of the bride. Miss
Brinkman wore a bandeau, blonde slippers and hose and carried white carnations. Miss Ellerbrock, the maid of
honor, wore a frock fashioned like that of the other girls and it was of rose crepe. She also wore a bandeau and
blonde slippers and hose and her flowers were pink carnations.
At 3:30 o'clock, a reception for fifty guests was held at the home of the bride's parents. A color scheme of
white, pink and blue was used in the decorations. There was a large wedding cake, marking the bride's table.
Serving were: Misses Bertha Klima, Frances Bigelow, Alma, Rayman, of Ottoville; Marie Brinkman, Martha
Brinkman and Verona Neidert, of Ft. Jennings; and Irene Martin, of Delphos.
Mr. Etter is employed at the Phelan Hotel in this city. Mr. and Mrs. Etter will make their home in Delphos.

Church at Ottoville—Rev. Father Arnoldi Officiates — Reception at Home of Bride's Parents.
The Immaculate Conception Church at Ottoville was the scene of a lovely wedding Wednesday morning at
7:30 o’clock when Miss Theresa Ruen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ruen, of northwest of Ottoville, was
united in marriage to Edwin Herman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Herman, also of northwest of Ottoville. Rev. Father
Arnoldi solemnized the nuptial high mass. The single ring ceremony was used.
Miss Helen Ruen, cousin of the bride, and Gilbert Herman, the groom’s brother, were the attendants.
The bride was attired in a lovely frock of blue crepe, a silhouette model. She wore a white tulle veil, which
was made in cap effect and was trimmed with pearls and lace. Her flowers were lilies and baby breath.
The bridesmaid wore a charming rose beige silk crepe frock, also fashioned very long. The yoke of the
frock was of ecru lace. Her hat was a pretty spring model of pale pink straw and she wore beige slippers and
hose. She carried a bouquet of Ophelia roses, snap-dragons and baby breath.
At 4 o'clock, a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. There were sixty guests. Beige and
blue formed the motif of the appointments and decorations. The following girls served: Rozella, Esther and
Alberta Mueller, of Landeck; Martha and Marcella Ruen, Catherine Pohl, Clara Hilvers and Mrs. Edwin Hilvers, of
Ottoville.
Later in the day, Mr. and Mrs. Herman left on a wedding trip to Rome City, Indiana, and Chicago, Ill. Upon
their return they will reside with the groom's parents.

Pretty Ceremony Unites Miss Victoria Utrup and Albert Kneuven in Holy Matrimony – Wedding
Breakfast at Home of Bride’s Sister – Couple Will Home Near Kalida.
Miss Victoria Utrup, daughter of J. H. Utrup, of southeast of Ottoville, and Albert Kneuven, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Kneuven, of Kalida, were married at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville Thursday
morning at 8:30 o’clock. The Pastor Rev. Father J. S. Arnoldi was in charge of the nuptial mass. The children’s
choir sang during the mass.
Miss Mathilda Kneuven, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Albert Schumaker, sister of the bride, were
bridesmaid and maid of honor, respectively, and Alphonse Utrup, brother of the bride, acted as groomsman.
The bride was attired in a lovely white satin gown, very long, fashioned in princess style. Her tulle veil was
made in cap-effect and was trimmed with pearls. The bride were a strand of pearls, the groom's gift, and she
wore white kid slippers and hose. Her flowers were white carnations and sweet peas.
Miss Kneuven, the bridesmaid, wore a pretty frock of rose georgette, styled like that of the bride. She wore
a band of silver leaves in her hair, blond slippers and hose and carried a bouquet of pink roses and pink, sweet
peas. The matron of honor wore blue georgette, and her accessories were similar to these of the bridesmaid.
A wedding breakfast for the bridal party was hold at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schumaker at 11 o
'clock, the decorations were in pink, white and blue.
Mr. and Mrs. Kneuven left on a week’s wedding trip to Toledo and Michigan. They will be at home on a farm
two and one-half miles west of Kalida.

Home on Farm Near Delphos.
A pretty spring wedding solemnized at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville Wednesday morning
at 8:30 o'clock was that of the Miss Hildegarde Schimmoeller and Norbert Wurst. The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. William J. Schimmoeller, of northeast of Ottoville, and Mr. Wurst is a son of Mr. and Mrs. August
Wurst, of west of this city. The nuptial high mass was celebrated by Rev. Father J. S. Arnoldi who also officiated
at the single ring ceremony. The children's choir sang.
Miss Coletta Wurst, sister of the groom, and Alphonse Schimmoeller, brother of the bride, were the
attendants. There were two flower girls, Janet and Valeria, Thines, both nieces of the bride.
The bridal gown was a lovely white satin model, ankle length, fashioned in princess style. The bride wore a
long veil of tulle made in, cap-effect and trimmed with silk, lace and orange blossoms. Her pearls were a gift of
the groom. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies.
The bridesmaid was attired in topaque blue silk crepe, also a silhonetta model, styled very long. Her hat
was of blue silk crepe and velvet trimmed with eggshell; silk lace. She wore eggshell net gloves, eggshell moire
slippers and beige lace hose. Her flowers were a bouquet of tea roses. Both the little flower girls wore green
taffeta and georgette frocks trimmed with pink. Their bolk hats were also green trimmed with pink and they wore
green kid slippers and green anklets. They carried dainty colonial bouquets of roses and sweet peas.
A wedding breakfast for the bridal party was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Thines, after the
ceremony.
A dinner for approximately sixty guests was served at the home of the bride's parents' at 1 o'clock. Green,
white and blue predominated in the appointments and decorations. A large wedding cake marked the bride's
table.
Serving the guests were: Loretta and Ladonna Becker, Mildred Schwinnen and Helen Turnwald, of Ottoville;
Marie Langhals and Henrietta Dickman, of Cloverdale; Germaine and Catherine Kroeger, of Landeck.
Mr. and Mrs. Wurst left on a week's wedding trip. Upon their return they will reside on a farm five miles
northwest of this city.

Miss Helen Turnwald Becomes Bride of Arnold Fisher at Ceremony Performed at Immaculate
Conception Church Tuesday Morning – Mr. and Mrs. Fisher to Make Home With Groom’s Parents.
A pretty summer wedding was that of Miss Helen Turnwald, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Turnwald, of
southeast of Ottoville, and Arnold Fisher, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Fisher, of northeast of Ottoville. The
nuptial high mass was celebrated by Rev. Father S. J. Eisel at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville
Tuesday morning at 7:30 o'clock. Rev Father J. S. Arnold officiated at the single ring ceremony.
Music during the mass was provided by the church choir. The Church was nicely decorated with seasonal
flowers for the occasion.
The bridal couple was attended by Miss Margaret Raymond, a friend, and Ralph Fisher, brother of groom.
The bride wore a lovely gown white satin with a long circular skirt, tight bodice and lace jacket. Her tulle veil
was styled in cap-effect an was trimmed with orange blossoms and pearls. It extended in a train The bride wore
white kid slippers, white hose and net gloves. Her strand of pearls were a gift of the groom. She carried a
shower bouquet of tea roses and baby breath.
The charming frock of the bridesmaid was of nile green chiffon with a long ruffled skirt, tight bodice and
cape-effect sleeves. She wore a large white straw hat, white slippers and hose and her only jewelry were pearls.
Her flowers were pink Ophelia roses.
A wedding breakfast was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Miller in Ottoville immediately follow
the ceremony.
A four-course dinner was served at the home of groom’s parents. There were fifty guests. Green and white
predominated in the appointments and decorations. The bride’s table was centered with a wedding cake daintily
trimmed with wedding bells.
Serving guests were Leona Kroeger, Rose and Lucille Miller; Aileen Wiechart and Monica Grothause of
Delphos; and Fern Siler and Bernadine Becker, at Ottoville.
Mr. and Mrs. Fisher will make their home with the groom's parents. They are taking a several weeks'
wedding trip.

8:30 o’clock when Miss Veronica Beining became the bride of Stephen Hilvers. Miss Beining is a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Beining, of near Ottoville, and Mr. Hilvers is a son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Hilvers, also of near
Ottoville.
Rev. J. S. Arnoldi, the pastor, celebrated the nuptial high mass and was in charge of the single ring
ceremony. Music was provided by the members of the Church choir.
Miss Clara Hilvers, sister of the groom, and Melvin Beining, brother of the bride, were the attendants.
The bride was charming in a gown of white satin, a silhouette model, trimmed with lace. Her veil extended in
a long train and was made in cap effect. Pearls were used to trim the veil. She carried lilies and baby breath.
The pretty frock of the bridesmaid was of rose-beige and the accessories were to correspond. She wore a
band of silver leaves in her hair and carried a bouquet of pink roses.
A wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents at 4:30 o'clock. There were fifty guests.
Cousins of the bride and groom were tablewaitresses.

Pretty Wedding Is Solemnized At Ottoville
Rev. Father Arnoldi Officiating at Nuptial High Mass During Which Miss Clara Brinkman, of Ottoville,
is United in Marriage to Edward Deegan, of Hornell, New York – Couple to Reside in New York.
The marriage of Miss Clara Brinkman, daughter of Mrs. Mary Brinkman, of Ottoville, and Edward Deegan,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Deegan, of Hornell, New York, was held at the Immaculate Conception Church in
Ottoville Monday morning at 8:30 o’clock.
Rev. Father J. S. Arnoldi was the celebrant of the nuptial high mass. F. J. Uhrich presided at the organ.
During the offertory, Miss Marie Uhrich sang “Ave Vernum” by Mozart.
Miss Loretta Brinkman, of Ottoville, was her sister’s maid of honor while Miss Catherine McFarlan, of
Youngstown, acted as bridesmaid. Miss McFarlin is an intimate friend of the bride. Alex Brinkman, of
Youngstown attended the groom.
The bridal gown was a charming model of white satin, the skirt which was made up entirely of tiny graduated
tucks. The gown was trimmed with pearls and rhinestones. The bride wore a veil, cape-effect, which extended in
a long train and was trimmed with orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of valley lilies and bride's roses.
Both of the attendants were attired similar to one another. Miss Brinkman, the maid of honor, wore brown
chiffon velvet with a bodice of chiffon. Her turban was of matching velvet and she wore brown suede slippers.
Her flowers were sunburst roses.
The bridesmaid wore violet chiffon velvet with corresponding accessories and her flowers were pink roses. Both
girls wore crystals and ear rings, gifts of the bride.
A wedding breakfast followed the ceremony. It was served at the home of Miss Helen Ruen, east of
Ottoville, a close friend of the bride.
A wedding dinner was served at the parish hall. There were approximately one-hundred guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Deegan left on a wedding trip through the east and will be at home in Hornell.
Out of town guests included; Mr. and Mrs. T. Meloy, Mr. and Mrs. John Birtch, Elmer Ellis, Carl Walsh, Mrs.

and Royce Baxter, of Van Wert, In Marriage—Mr. and Mrs. Baxter to Live in Van Wert
Miss Mildred Wannemacher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wannemacher, Sr., of Ottoville, was married to
Royce Baxter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Baxter, of Van Wert Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at the rectory of
the Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville. Rev. Father J. S. Arnoldi, the pastor, read the marriage service
and officiated at the single ring ceremony.
The bride chose as her attendant, Miss Mildred Baxter, of Ft. Wayne, the groom's sister, and Ottmer
Wannemacher of Columbus, the brother of the bride, acted as groomsman.
The bride was charmingly attired in a gown of brown chiffon velvet, it was trimmed with a velvet jacket. She
wore a gold metallic turban, brown suede slippers and eggshell kid glove's.
Her corsage was made up of gardenias.
A wedding dinner was served at the home of the brides parents at 12 o’clock. Covers were marked for the
bridal party and the immediate families. Pink and yellow predominated in the appointments. Pretty bouquets of
flowers and tall tapers were arranged on the one long table. A wedding cake formed the centerpiece.
Serving the guests were: Mrs. Robert Wannemacher and Mrs. Edwin Wannemacher, of Ottoville and Mrs.
Bernard Ricker of Delphos.
The bride is a member of the class of 1926 of the Ottoville High School. She is quite well known in Delphos
and vicinity. Mr. Baxter graduated from Mendon High School. He conducts a filing station at Van Wert.
Mr. and Mrs. Baxter left on a ten-day trip to Virginia. For the journey, Mrs. Baxter wore a rust colored gown
with corresponding accessories.
Mr. and Mrs. Baxter will be at home at 206 Daniels street, Van Wert.

leaves in her hair. Her flowers were pink roses.
A wedding dinner was served in the afternoon at 4 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents. There were
seventy-five guests at the wedding. The decorations were carried out in a color; scheme of green and white. Mr.
and Mrs. Pohl will make their home with the groom's father, three miles east of Delphos.
