ALICE E. BECKMAN, 77, died at 2 p.m. Jan. 23, 1995, at Calvary Manor Nursing Home in Glandorf.
She was born Dec. 30, 1917, in Ottoville, to Charles and Clara (Pittner) Saw miller. On Nov. 14, 1936, she
married Herman J. Beckman, who died Dec. 5, 1977.
Mrs. Beckman was a homemaker. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, the
Ottawa Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and SS. Peter and Paul Altar-Rosary Society. Survivors include two
brothers, Cyril Sawmiller of Lima and Charles Sawmiller of Loxahatchee, Fla.; and four sisters, Theresa Heiing
of Ottawa, Ruth Menke and Clara Honigfort, both of Fort Jennings, and Dorothy Metcalfe of Delphos.
She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Beckman; a brother, Harold Sawmiller; and three sisters,
Mary Sawmiller, Rosemary Seimet and Gertrude Michel.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa.
The Rev. Jim Miller will officiate. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Miller City.
Friends may call 7 to 9 tonight at McCrate-Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, where an Eagles service will be
held at 7:30 p.m. followed by a scripture service at 8:30 p.m.

1994 Woman of the Year dies
Mary A. Weber, 87, of Ottoville, the 1994 Delphos Herald Woman of the Year, died 2:36 a.m. Sept. 18 in
Van Wert County Hospital.
She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, its Alter
Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
Mrs. Weber was born Dec. 14, 1907, in Ottoville to John and Anna (Eberle) Honigford. She married Frank
X. Weber June 12, 1929, in Ottoville. He died Jan. 23, 1991.
She is survived by seven sons, Gene (Eilleen) Weber of Coldwater, Donald (Audrey) Weber of Estes Park,
Colo., Art (Connie) Weber of Ft. Wayne, Leonard J. (Margie) Weber of Detroit, Mich., Ken (Bettie) Weber of
Greenville;Larry (Fran) Weber of Barnum, Minn., and Rev. Herb Weber of Mansfield; six daughters, Mrs. Mike
(Mildred) Rahrig of Delphos, Sister Helen Weber CPPS of Denver Colo., Mrs. Frank (Lucille) Fuchs of
Brandon, Fla., Mrs. Roger (Celeste) Geise of Delphos, Mrs. Jim (Dollie) Spieles of Wauseon, and Mrs. Vern
(Judy) Fischer of Delphos; one sister, Mrs, Otto (Sabina) Miller of Kalida; and one sister-in-law, Ethel Honigford
of Lima; 39 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Joseph, Clem, Gilbert, and Bernard Honigford.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Immaculate Conception church, her son Rev. Herb
Weber and the Rev. Sylvan Obergefell officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. today and 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and prior to mass Thursday at
Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp-Siferd Funeral Home, Ottoville. Parish wake will be 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral
home.
Preferred memorials are to American Lung Association, St. Vincent De Paul Society or for Habitat for
Humanity.
