Carl J. Wannemacher
    Carl J. Wannemacher, 54, Cairo, died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday of an apparent heart attack at his place of
employment in Ft. Wayne, Ind. He was an electrician.
    He was born March 19, 1926, in Ottoville, to Albert and Sabina (Herman) Wannemacher. He married
Georgiana Hall in Ottoville and she survives.
    Also surviving are three step-daughters, Mrs. Richard (Nancy) Allen, Lima, Mrs. Randy (Judy) Wagner,
Lima, and Mrs. Jack (Ronelda) Hites, Lima; two step-sons, Rex Hall, Warsaw, Ind., and Rondell Cox, Jr., Lima;
two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Marie) Maas, rural Ottawa, and Mrs. Vernon (Jeanette) Schroeder, Ottoville; two
brothers, Justin Wannemacher, Ft. Jennings, and Roman J. Wannemacher, Ottawa; nine step-grandchildren
and one step great-grandchild.
    Mr. Wannemacher was a World War II Veteran; member of Electrical Union No. 32, Lima, a member of
Delphos Knights of Columbus, and a member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post,
Ottoville.
    Fiends may call at the Sifred Funeral Home in Lima tonight, Wednesday, and at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp
Funeral Home in Ottoville, on Thursday night.
    Mass of Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville.

Regina Schweller
    Regina Schweller, 82, Ottoville, died on Monday ay 10:39 p.m. at Delphos Memorial Home.
    She was born October 16, 1898 to C. H. and Mary (Eickholt) Hilvers. She was married August 18, 1918 in
Ottoville to Julian H. Schweller. He died December 13, 1968.
    She is survived by five sons; Walter, Ottawa, Charles, John and Henry, all of Ottoville, and Donald,
Paulding; three daughters, Mrs. Marie Ernst and Mrs. Anna Allersmeyer, both of Majoue, Calif., and Mrs. Don
(Frances) Grothouse, Delphos; 30 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
    One brother, Alex Hilvers, Ottawa, and two sisters, Mrs. Othmar (Clara) Smith, Columbus Grove, and Mrs.
Loretta Ruen, Ottoville, also survive. Two brothers, Stephen and Edwin, are deceased.
    She was a member of the Rosary-Alter society of the Immaculate Conception Church of Ottoville.
    Mass of Resurrection will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the church with Rev. Roger Bonifas officiating,
Visitation will be at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home in Ottoville. Parish wake services will be held tonight at
eight p.m.

William Burgei
    William Burgei, 71, Sarasota, Fla., died at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, after an extended illness.
    Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. January 23, at St. Martha’s Catholic Church, Sarasota.
    He was born March 14, 1909, in Ottoville, to William C. and Margaret (Studer) Burgei. He married Vera
Newland, in August, 1947, and she survives.
    Survivors include two sons, Jerome, route 3, Delphos, and James, Mio, Mich.; eight grandchildren; one
brother, Jacob, Ottoville; two sisters, Mrs. Sylvester (Sophia) Hugel, Landeck, and Mrs. Adolf (Clara) Rahrig,
Delphos,
    Mr. Burgei was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Martha’s Catholic Church.

Mary M. Eickholt
    Mary Mathilda Eickholt, 89, Ottoville, died at 8:00 p.m. Thursday at her home. Funeral services were held at
10:30 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Father Roger Bonifas officiated
at the service and burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.
    She was born July 11, 1891, in Putnam County to John and Catherine (Deitering) Miller.
    She married John C. Eickholt, who died in February 1970.
    Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. William (Ellen) Ulrich, Delphos, Mrs. Arnold (Calista) Miller, Landeck,
Mrs. Ralph (Kathryn) Altenburger, Lima; three sons, Ralph, Lima, Roman and Orval, both of Ottoville; three
step grandchildren; 51 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Miller, Toledo.
    She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church; the Ottoville Catholic Ladies of Columbia; the
Alter-Rosary Society.

George G. Rieger
    George G. Rieger, 53, Ottoville, died at 2:35 a.m. Monday at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
    He was born November 9, 1927, in Ottoville, the son of George N. and Anna Wannemacher Rieger. On
April 30, 1949. He married Bernice Martin, who survives.
    Mr. Rieger was owner of George N. Rieger and Sons Plumbing and Heating. He was a member of the
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, its Holy Name Society, Ottoville Volunteer Fire Department and
American Legion Post 715.
    Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Earl (Sue) Dasher, Paulding, Mrs. Robert (Vivian) Langhals, and Mrs.
Kenneth (Connie) Knippen, Cloverdale, Mrs. James (Nancy) Ricker, Ft. Jennings, Shirley and Jennifer at
home; two sons, Tim and Tony both at home; seven grandchildren; and three sisters, Euletta Rieger and Mrs.
Eugene (Ruth) Hoehn, both of Ottoville, and Ethel Rieger of Houston Texas.
    Mass of Resurrection was said at 10:30 this morning at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rev. roger
Bonifas officiating. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Urban A. (BUD) Honigford
    Urban A. (BUD) Honigford, 58, route 3, Delphos, died at 4:00 a.m.  Friday at St. Rita's Medical Center,
Lima. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church, Delphos, the Rev. Arthur
Badger officiating. He was buried in Resurrection cemetery.
    He was born on February 10, 1923, in Ottoville to John and Theresa (Weber) Honigford. In November 1953
he married Dorothy M. Koch, who survives him.
    Also surviving are three sons, Michael, Delphos; Charles, Josephinium Seminary, Worthington; Thomas, at
home; two daughters, Mrs. John (Carol) Stephens, Lima; Susan at home; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs.
Henry (Rosalia) Wegesin, Delphos; Mrs. Cyril (Ann Marie) Kahle, Ottawa; and four brothers, Walter, Delphos;
Alfred and Victor, Ottoville; Roger,  of Ottawa.
    Mr. Honigford was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Ottoville VFW, The
Independent Order of Foresters, and St. John's Catholic Church, Delphos. He was head of maintenance and
an engineer at St. John's school and Church.

Bernard H. Honigford
Funeral services were held at 10:30 this morning at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, for
Bernard (Ben) H. Honigford, 82, route 1, Cloverdale. He was buried in the church cemetery.
    Mr. Honigford died at 9:30 P.M. Saturday at his home.
    He was born June 16, 1898, in Ottoville, to John and Anna (Eberle)  Honigford. He married Frances Bohn
and she died July 10, 1967.
    He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Jeanette) Swary, Payne; three sons, Jerome, Delphos; James
and Donald, Ottoville; 20 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Weber, Ottoville; Mrs. Otto (Sabina)
Miller, Columbus Grove.
    He was a retired farmer and a member of the church and its Holy Name Society.

Katherine Miller
    Kathryn Miller, 92, formerly of Ottoville, died at 5 a.m. today, Wednesday, in Toledo Retiree Center.
    She was born February 7, 1889, in Ottawa, to Daniel and Barbara (Ringlein) Miller.
    Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ida Crowley, Toledo, and a brother, Peter Miller, Meritt Island, Fla.
    Miss Miller was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, where the mass of
resurrection will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday. Rev. Roger Bonifas will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary’s
Cemetery.
    Friends may call at 4 p.m. Thursday at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home, Ottoville, where the parish
wake service will be at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Lucinda R. Hoffman
    Lucinda R. Hoffman, 77, Defiance, formerly of Ottoville, died at seven o’clock Friday evening at her
daughter’s residence in Ocala, Fla.
    She was born August 5, 1904, in Ottoville to John and Mary (Meyers) Becker. In 1927 she married Albert
Hohlbein. He died in 1960. She married Lawrence Hoffman in 1962 and he passed away April 22, 1967.
    Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Norma) Wittler, Defiance, Mrs. Eugene (Jeanette) Liebrecht,
Ocala, Fla.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Donald (Delores) Meyer, Ottawa, and Mrs. Glenn (Mary) Kidd, Meadville,
Pa.; three step-sons, Robert and Karl Hoffman, Columbus Grove, and Oscar Hoffman, Bowling Green; four
grandchildren, 21 step grandchildren; one great-grandchild; eight step great-grandchildren. Seven brothers
and three sisters are deceased.
    Mrs. Hoffman was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Defiance.
    The Mass of Resurrection was said Wednesday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville,
with the Reverend Roger Bonifas officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

    David L. Dunlap, 68, Ottoville, died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday at his home. He had been ill quite some time.
    He was born May 15, 1912, in Sugar Creek Township, to Lawrence and Frances (Rhoher) Dunlap. On July
10, 1954, he married Marjorie Shilling, who survives.
    Also surviving are a son, Larry, at home; two stepchildren, Steve, Route 2, Ft. Jennings; Mrs. Joseph
(Susan) Klima, Ottoville; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Onard (Mildred) Ebling, Lima, and Mrs. Margaret
Pitney, Cloverdale.
    Mr. Dunlap was a retired mechanic with Suever Contracting, Lima.
    Funeral services were held at 10:30 this morning at Harter and Sons Memorial Chapel, Delphos, Rev.
Willard Thomas officiating. He was buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.

Anna U. Becker
    Mrs. Anna U. Becker, 81, Ottoville, died at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. She had
been ill two weeks.
    She was born November 7, 1899, in Ottawa, to Bernard and Mary (Fenbert) Uphaus. On June 3, 1924 she
married Harry Becker, and he died February 13, 1973.
    Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Dorothy) Miller, Ottoville, Mrs. Norman (Margaret)
Schimmoeller, Ottoville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Helen (Otto) Ruhe,
Glandorf, and Mrs. Mary Dangler, Lima.
    Mrs. Becker was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, the Alter-Rosary
Society of the church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ottoville VFW.
She was a retired schoolteacher.
Mass of Resurrection will be said at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church by Rev. Roger Bonifas. Visitation will be
after 7 tonight at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home in Ottoville. At 7:30 p.m. Thursday the VFW Ladies
Auxiliary will hold a service at the home. At 8:00 p.m. the parish wake will be conducted.

Lawrence J. Schneeg
    Lawrence J. Schneeg, 75, Ottoville, died at 1:48 a.m. Wednesday at the home of his twin sister Margaret
Pease and niece, Pat at Ft. Wayne.
    He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Catherine (Grosh), who died on August 10, 1980.
He was born July 30, 1905, in Ottoville, to Joseph and Jenny (Deck) Schneeg. He was employed for 40 years
at Burghoff and Falstaff Breweries, Ft. Wayne. He was a member of the Ft. Wayne American Legion Post 330,
the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society.
    Mr. Schneeg served for three years in World War II in Europe and in North Africa.
    Survivors include an aunt. Elsie Deck, Canton; several cousins; five other nieces, and seven nephews.
    Mass of Resurrection will be said at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church,
Ottoville, the Rev. Roger Bonifas officiating.
    Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
    Visitation will be after 2 p.m. on Friday at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home, Ottoville. A joint K. of C. and
parish wake service will be held at the home at 8 p.m. Friday.
    Military graveside services will be conducted by the Ottoville VFW.

Henry Spicer
    Henry Spicer, Ottoville, died at 5:05 p.m. Friday at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
    He was born September 22, 1896 in Dundee, Michigan, to Charles and Henrietta (Whitting) Spicer. On
September 3, 1938 he married Hilda Greulich, who died on November 17, 1962.
    Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Virginia) Kimmet, Ottoville; and four grandchildren.
    Mr. Spicer was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was also a member of the
VFW in Ottoville and the American Legion in Ft. Jennings.
    Funeral services were held earlier this week at the church, the Rev. Roger Bonifas officiated. The VFW
conducted graveside services at St. Mary’s Cemtery.

Margaret L. Heck
    Margaret L. Heck, 66, route 2, Ft. Jennings, died at 2:20 p.m. Sunday at her home. Funeral services were
held at 9:30 a.m. today at the immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. The Rev. Roger Bonifas
officiated. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
    She was born July 20, 1914, at Ft. Jennings to Charles and Elizabeth (Otte) Rekart. On June 9, 1942 she
married Leo E. Heck, who survives at home.
    Also surviving are two sons, James, Ft. Jennings, Kevin, Toledo; three daughters, Mary Beth Jutte, Clayton.
Suzanne Phelps, Dallas, Texas, Jean Heck, Atlanta Georgia; four grandchildren; one sister, Marcella
Blankemeyer; two brothers, Elvin Rekart, Southgate, Michigan and Harold Rekart, Lebannon, Tennessee.
    Mrs. Heck was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Alter-Rosary Society of
the church. She was also the Township Chairperson of the Putnam County Historical Society

Andrew W. Hohlbein
    Andrew W. Hohlbein, 88, route 2, Cloverdale, died Friday at 11:45 p.m. at the Delphos Memorial Home.
    Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, the
Rev. Roger Bonifas officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.
    He was born December 31, 1892, in Putnam County to John and Mary (Altenburger) Hohlbein. He married
Barbara Lehmkuhle, who died June 27, 1966.
    Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Otto (Alma) Schnipke, Cloverdale; five sons, Eugene, Shepard, Mich.,
Oscar and Virgil, Cloverdale, Ralph, Toledo, John, Delphos; one brother, Frank, Ft. Jennings; 46
grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.
    Mr. Hohlbein was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, the Holy Name
Society, and the Ottoville senior citizens. Prior to his retirement he was self-employed as a carpenter.

David J. Stokes
    David J. Stokes, 27, 155 Otto Street, Ottoville, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Rita’s Medical Center,
Lima, following a one-car accident at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, on Landeck Road 3/10 miles west of route 66 south
of Delphos.
    According to the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Stokes was driving eastbound when he failed
to negotiate a curve and went off the left side of the road. The car struck a large rock, flipped over, struck
three trees and then landed on its top on the roadway.
    Stokes and a passenger, Steven D. Blackburn, 23, Delphos, were both thrown from the car, and Stokes
was pinned underneath, the patrol said.
    Blackburn was listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit at St. Rita’s.
    David Stokes was born November 18, 1953, the son of Norman and Anna Wurst Stokes. His mother
survives on Ottoville.
    A 1972 Ottoville High School graduate, he was a cook and bartender at Riverfront Park, Ft. Jennings, and
had been a truck driver at Aeroquip, Van Wert.
    Also surviving are three brothers, James, Lima, Barry, Ft. Kent, Maine, and Richard, Middle Point, and a
sister, Mrs. Thomas (Mary Ann) Schnipke, Kalida.
    Mass of Resurrection was held at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church with Rev. Roger Bonifas officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery

Joseph A. Sanders
    Joseph A. Sanders, Jr. 56, Ottoville, died at 12:45 a.m. Monday at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
    He was born August 21, 1925, in Ottoville to Joe and Anna (Pohl) Sanders. He married Eileen Koester, who
survives.
    Also surviving are a son, Kevin, and a daughter, Renee, both at home; three sisters, Sister Mary Silvina,
Van Wert, Mrs. Arthur (Lucinda) Ellerbrock, Ft. Jennings, Mrs. Harold (Mildred) Rampe, Kalida; two brothers,
Gerald, Cridersville, and Gilbert, of Delphos.
    Funeral services were held at 10:30 this morning, Wednesday, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church, Ottoville, the Rev. Gerald Stein officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
    Mr. Sanders was a veteran of World War II and was retired from Sheller-Globe, Lima.
    Members of the Ottoville VFW performed military rites at the graveside.

    Wilbert R. (Bill) Miller, 70, died at 4 a.m. Sunday at his home near Ottoville.
    Funeral services were held at 10:30 this morning at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville,
the Rev. Roger Bonifas officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
    He was born March 25, 1911, in Ottoville, the son of Martin and Veronica (Eickholt) Miller. On May 6, 1939,
he married LaDonna Becker, who survives.
    Survivors include a son, Howard (Skip) Miller, Ottoville; two grandchildren; two brothers, Hugo, Duluth,

    Lawrence J. (Mort) Kemper, 56, Delphos, died at 2:45 p.m. Monday at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, after
an extended illness.
    He was born May 29, 1925, in Ottoville, to Herman and Theresia (Ricker) Kemper. His mother survives in
Delphos.
    Also surviving are six sisters, Mrs. Alex (Frances) Muzachuk, and Mrs. Amelia Bursg, both of Dayton, Mrs.
Carl (Bertha) Gasser, Ft. Jennings, Mrs. Robert (Lucille) Lammers, New Cleveland, Mrs. James (Theresa)
Kramer, Ottoville, Mrs. Donald (Agnes) Ostendorf, Ft. Jennings; four brothers, Arnold, Isadore, John and
Joseph, all of Ottoville.
    Mr. Kemper was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Delphos, and was an employee of New Delphos
Manufacturing Company.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, Rev. Robert Sidner officiating. Burial will
be in the church cemetery.
    Visitation will be after 7 p.m., today at the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp and Siferd Funeral Home, Delphos. A
parish wake service will be held at 8 p.m. tonight, at the home.

Henry B. Eickholt
      Former Ottoville resident Henry B. Eickholt, 74, died December 23 in Columbus Hospital following surgery.
He had been residing in Clearview Convalescent Home, Columbus.
      He was born October 5, 1907 to Edward and Susan (Moore) Eickholt.
      He was a 1925 graduate of Ottoville High School. Surviving is a brother, Dr. Charles Eickholt, Columbus;
and a sister Marie Ebbeskotte. Burial was in Columbus.

Roman L. Greulich
      Roman L. Greulich, 69, Ottoville, died at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, on December 29 at 9:40 p.m.
      Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, officiated by
Father Roger Bonifas. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos.
      He was born July 2, 1912 to William and Katherine (Sellet) Greulich.
      Surviving are his wife Madeline (Brinkman) Greulich; one daughter, Mrs. Ted (Paula) Wade; and one step-
daughter, Mrs. Ben (Beverly) Amstutz.
      He was a member of  Disabled American Veterans, Waynesfield; the Ottoville VFW; and the Immaculate
Conception Church, Ottoville.
      He was retired from the Tank Depot in Lima, and also worked for Krey Packing, Co., Delphos. He was a
veteran of World War II.
