Marcus Miller
Mass of the Resurrection was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday for Marcus L. Miller, 71, in the Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church. Ottoville, with Rev. Roger Bonifas as celebrant. Burial was made in St. Mary's
Cemetery. Ottoville.
An Ottoville resident, Mr. Miller died at 3:52 p.m. Saturday in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Born on May
19, 1906, in Ottoville. He was the son of Martin and Veronica (Eickholt) Miller. He married Lauretta Beining on
June 15, 1933, and she survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Norma Jean) Pohlman, Delphos; Mrs. Hubert
(Carol Ann) Byrne and Mrs. Virgil (Pamela) Schnipke, both of Ottoville; 15 grandchildren; two great-
grandchildren; three brothers, Hugo, Duluth; Minn.; Bruno and Wilbert, both of Ottoville; two sisters. Mrs.
George (Bertha) Grothause, Delphos; and Mrs. Lucinda Hilvers. Ottoville. Three brothers are deceased.
He was the retired owner of the former Mark's Electric of Ottoville with 40 years of service at that business.
He was also a member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Holy Name Society.

Caroline Burgei
Caroline Burgei, 75, formerly of Ottoville, died at 11:15 p.m. Sunday in Roselawn Nursing Home,
Spencerville. She had been ill for an extended length of time.
Born April 3, 1902, in Ottoville. She was the daughter of William and Margaret (Studer) Burgei.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Clara Rahrig, Delphos; Mrs. Sylvester (Sophia) Hugel, Landeck; two
brothers. Jacob, Ottoville; William Sarasota, Fla. Three brothers and three sisters are deceased.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, where a Mass of
Resurrection was at 10:30 a.m. this morning, Wednesday. Rev. Roger Bonifas officiated. Burial was In St.
Mary's Cemetery. Ottoville.

Richard J. Stepleton
Mass of the resurrection was at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, for
Richard J. Stepleton, 86, Ottoville, who died at 7 a.m. last Wednesday at his home. Rev. Roger Bonifas
officiated at the services and burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.
Born September 14, 1911, in Delphos, he was a son of John and Matilla (Kroeger) Stepleton. He married
Beatrice A. Miller on July 11, 1933, and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Robert, Los Angeles, and Richard K., Delphos: three daughters, Mrs.
Kenneth (Carol) Wittler, Ottoville: Mrs. Craig (Debra) Henkener, Wapakoneta; Mrs. Albert (Patricia) Fackle.
Leipsic; 17 grandchildren: a brother, Anthony, Delphos; and two sisters, Mrs. Louis (Ruth) Etgen, Lima, and
Mrs. Roy (Margaret) Schwinnen, Delphos.
Mrs. Stepleton was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Ottoville Senlor Citizens He was
a retired employee of GTE Sylvania, Ottawa.

Lawrence Heurman
Lawrence J. Heurman, 67, a retired employee of Buckeye Sugar Company, Ottawa, died at 4:20 p.m.,
Thursday in St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
A native of Putnam County, he was born in Ottoville on November 24, 1910, to Anthony and Mary
(Brinkman) Heurman.
Surviving are a brother, Arnold, Ottawa: three sisters, Mrs. Anna Rump, Miller City; Mrs. Alfred
(Bernadine) Brickner and Catherine Heurman, both of Ottawa.
Mr. Heurman was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, and was an army veteran of
World War II. He was a member of the Miller City American Legion and the Miller City Sportsmen's Club.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday in the church.

Carl A. Plescher
Carl A. Plescher, 67, Kalida, died at 6 p.m. Sunday in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
The son of Adam T. and Mary (Klima) Plescher he was born on July 17, 1910, in Van Wert County. He
married Cecelia Berelsman in 1934 and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters Mrs. Allan (Mary Elizabeth) Dowler, Liberty, Ind.; Mrs. Roger (Rose Ann)
Schumaker, Ottawa; a son. Donald, Kalida: six grandchildren: a sister, Mrs. Elma Rov, Kalida.
A member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida, Mr. Pleseher was a 38 year veteran of the Kalida Fire
Department and a member of the Kalida EMS Unit. A stationary engineer at Lima Ordinance, he retired from
Agrico Co., Lima, in 1968.
Funeral mass was at 10:00 this morning, Wednesday, in the church with Rev. Herbert Eilerman officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mary Elizabeth Schumaker
Mary E. Schumaker, 89, Ottoville, died at 5 a.m. Friday at her daughter's residence in Hebron, Ind. Mass
of the Resurrection was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Burial
was made in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville, Rev. Herman Scherger officiated.
She was born on August 15, 1888, in Fort Jennings, a daughter of William and Mary C. (Luersman)
Martin. She married John Schumaker and he died in 1947.
Survivors include two sons, Albert, Lake Wales, Fla.; Leonard, Anchorage, Alaska; three daughters, Mrs.
Thomas (Marie) Burns, Hebron; Mrs. Ralph (Germaine) Spicer, Fort Jennings and Mrs. Virgil (Wilma)
Tenwalde, Ottoville; 37 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. William (Christine) Schneeg,
and Mrs. Flo Horstman, both of Ottoville; Mrs. Lucy Schulte, Delphos; and Clara Unverferth, Kalida. One sister
and four brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. Schumaker was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.

Jerome J. Gasser
Jerome J. Gasser, 55, was found dead at 11:15 p.m. Thursday at the Putnam House in Ottawa.
The son of Frank and Catherine (Burgei) Gasser, he was born October 14, 1922, in Ottoville. On October
30, 1948, he married Agnes Minnig in Delphos and she survives in Ottoville.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dave (Margaret) Gamble, Ottoville; Mrs. Gary (Patricia) Moshure,
Van Wert; two sons, John, Delphos; Jerome Jr., Ottawa; three grandchildren, five brothers, Carl and Joseph,
Ft. Jennings; Arnold, Delphos; Eugene and Frank, Ottoville; two sisters, Mrs. John (Felicitas) Kill, Delphos;
Mrs. Bernard (Marie) Gerdeman, Ottoville. A twin daughter Marguerite, a sister and a brother are deceased.
A former Employee of the Fruehauf Corporation, Mr. Gasser was a member of the Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church, Ottoville. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and is a member of the Ottoville
Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30 this morning, Wednesday, in the church, with Rev. Herman
Scherger as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

Leo J. Eickholt
Leo J. Eickholt, 83, route 3, Delphos, died Monday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He had
been seriously ill for three weeks.
Born April 3, 1896, he was the son of Frank and Catherine (Schirack) Eickholt. He was married on
November 27, 1917, in Ottoville to Mary Smith and she died on February 18, 1968.
Surviving are three daughters. Mrs. Gilbert (Rita) Ricker, Mrs. Louis (Martha) Kaverman, both of Delphos;
Mrs. Leo (Irene) Schnipke, Kalida: a son. Jerome, Ottoville; 34 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; two
sisters, Mrs. John (Frances) Fenbert, Leipsic; Armella Eickholt, Celina. One son, Lawrence, a brother, Gilbert
and a sister, Edna Wannemacher are deceased.
Mr. Eickholt as a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and the Holy Name
Society. A retired farmer he served in the U.S. Army during World War I and was a member of the Ottoville V.F.
W.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church with Rev. Roger Bonifas officiating. Burial will be in
St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.

Helen Utrup
Mass of the Resurrection for Helen T. Utrup, 74, was at 11 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church, Ottovllle. Rev. Roger Bonifas and Rev. John Lehmkuhle officiated and burial was in St. Mary's
Cemetery, Ottoville.
A resident of Paradise Oaks Nursing Home. Cloverdale, and formerly of Ottoville, Miss Utrup died at 9:45 a.
m. Thursday in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born on December 28, 1903, in Ottoville to Gerhard and Anna (Kehres) Utrup.
Survivors include a brother, Louis Utrup, Leipsic, and a sister, Mrs. John (Hilda) Pohl, Fort Jennings.
A member of Immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville. She was also a member of the Altar Rosary
Society. She had formerly been the parish priest's housekeeper.

Clarence Maag
Clarence E. Maag, 73, route 3, Montpelier, died last Tuesday afternoon in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne,
Ind., following an illness of four months.
He was born on August 27, 1904, in Putnnm'County, to Ted and Dorthia (Meyer) Maag. On February 26,
1930, he married Caroline Klima and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons. Leon, Bryan. Oscar and Franklin, both of Montpelier; six daughters.
Mrs. Julie Korneyn New Bavaria; Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Rigger and Mrs. Phillip (Marie) Kunkel, both of Bryan:
Mrs. Caroline Jean Hartman, Tampa, Fla.: Mrs. William (Diane) Hicks, Toledo and Mrs. Jerry (Linda) Schmidt,
Fayette: three brothers, Cyril, Toledo: Ted, Rochester, Mich.: Robert, Maumee; four sisters, Mrs. Edward
(Mary) Merschman, Mrs. Harry (Ida) Kerner and Mrs. Paul (Celesta) Salsbury, all of Ottawa: and Mrs. Joseph
(Mildred) Niedecken, Ottoville: 32 grandchildren, seven step grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two
sons, Clarence and Edward, a brother and three sisters, preceeded him in death.
A retired farmer, Mr. Maag was an employee for 18 years at Poast & Dawson Company, Bryan. He was a
member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Montpelier.
Mass of the Resurrection was at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with Rev. William Dodart offrciating.
Interment was made at Ottoville Cemetery.

Lucy P. Schulte
Lucy P. Schulte, 87, Delphos, died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She had
been seriously ill for two days.
She was born on June 2, 1890, in Putnam County, to William and Mary (Luersman) Martin. On May 26.
1909, she married Bernard F. Schulte in Fort Jennings and he preceded her in death on May 24, 1966.
Surviving her are a son, Henry Z. (Bud), Delphos; three daughters. Mrs. Albert (Loretta) Smith, Ottoville;
Mrs. Norbert J. (Lorene) Fuerst, Columbus Grove; Mrs. Joseph (Dolores) Van Oss, Ottoville; 16 grandchildren:
40 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. William (Christine) Schneeg, Mrs. Flo Horstman, both of Ottoville;
Mrs. Clara Unverfrrth. Kalida. Two sisters and four brothers are deceased.
Mrs. Schulte was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Delphos, the Ottoville VFW Auxiliary; Catholic
Ladies of Columbia and the Altar Rosary Society of the church.
Funeral mass was at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial was made in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

Carl J. Greulich
Carl J. Greulich, 68, of Ottovi1le, died at 5:31 a.m. Saturday in St. Rita's, Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Dec. 20, 1909, in Ottoville, a son of Wil1iam and Catherine (Sellet) Greulich.
Survivors include his widow, the former Bertha Schmitt of Ottoville, whom he married Apri1 10, 1928; a
daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Trenkamp of Lima; a brother, Roman Greulich of Ottoville, and six grandchildren. Mr.
Greulich was preceded in death by a son and daughter in infancy; five brothers, and three sisters.
He served as town marshall of Ottoville for 10 years. He was a member of the Senior Citizens and the
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, both of Ottovil1e. Mr. Greulich was a retired employee of the Lima
Armature Works, and was a bus driver for the Ottoville school for 19 years.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the church with the Rev. Roger Bonifas, celebrant. Burial
will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Ottoville. Friends may can in the Kolkmeyer- Helmkamp Funeral Home, Ottoville,
where the Parish Wake Service will be at 8 p.m. today.

Anna M. Schimmoeller
Anna M. Schimmoeller, 76, died at 6:25 p.m. Thursday at her home in Delphos. She had been ill for an
extended length of time.
The daughter of John and Mary (Altenburger) Hohlbein, she wag born on August 8, 1901, in Ottoville. She
married Clarence F. Schimmoeller on February 14, 1930, in Ottoville and he died on September 26, 1976.
Surviving her are two brothers, Andrew and Frank, both of Ottoville. A daughter died in infancy and a
sister and two brothers also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Schimmoeller was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Delphos, and the Altar Rosary Society of
the church.
Funeral mass was at 11 a.m. Monday in the church and burial was made in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

Mary Horstman
Mary M. Horstman, 82, formerly of route 2, Cloverdale, died at 9:45 a.m. last Wednesday in Paradise
Oaks Nursing Center, Cloverdale.
A native of Putnam County, she was horn to Glandorf on January 30, 1896, to Frank H. and Anna (Meyer)
Horstman. She never married.
Miss Horstman was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottovllle, where Mass of the
Resurrection was at 1:30 p m. Friday.
Rev. Roger Bonifas officiated and interment was made in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

Henry M. Fischbach
Rev. Arthur Badger officiated at funeral services for Henry M. Fischbach, 82, Delphos, in St. John's
Catholic Church, Delphos, at 11 a.m. Saturday. He died at 3:50 a.m. Thursday in Roselawn Nursing Home,
Spencerville. Burial was made in St. John's Cemetery.
The son of John and Mary (Nichols) Fischbach, he was born in Ottoville on July 19, 1895. He married Mary
W. Comes and she died on June 27, 1968.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Eileen) Hamilton, Delphos; five sons, Rollie, Watertown, S. D.;
Raymond and Donald, both of Delphos; Raphael, Fort Jennings, Thomas, Lima: 21 grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren. One sister, Kathryn Hoersten and two brothers, Peter and Butch are deceased.
Mr. Fischbach was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Holy Name Society. He was
a retired employee of Fruehauf Corporation, Delphos.

Alice Von Kaenel
Alice L Von Kaenel, 72, Ottoville, died at 8:20 rm. Friday in Royal Crest Nursing Home, Ottawa. She had
been ill for an extended length of time.
She was born in Marion on December 9, 1905, the daughter of Thomas H. and Anna (Hannegan) Burke.
On June 10, 1935, she married Harry A. Von Kaenel and he survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Ann) Thesing, Dayton; Mrs. Peter (Carol) Kische. White
Fish Bay, Wis.; four sons, John, Ottoville: Rev. Robert, DDS, West Covina. Calif.; Harry Jr., Toledo: David P.,
Alta Loma. Calif.: 14 grandchildren: two sisters, Mrs. Mary Florence Wortman, Leipsic; Mrs. Evelyn Becherer.
Cuyahoga Falls. A son, Thomas, along with two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Von Kaenel was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and the Altar
Rosary Society of the church.
Funeral Mass was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the church with Rev. Msgr. Robert J. Von Kaenel and Rev.
Roger Bonifas officiating. Interment was made in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

Hugo C. Byrne
Hugo Byrne, 65, route 2, Ft. Jennings, died at 7:45 p.m. Thursday in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
A retired farmer and a retired employee of the Krey Packing Co., Delphos. Mr. Byrne was born February
19, 1913, in Ottoville to Daniel and Emma (Brandehoff) Byrne. He married Martha Knippen on April 4, 1937,
and she survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, three grandchildren, three brothers, Joseph. Delphos, and Orion and
John, both of Ottoville; and two sisters, Mrs. Rudy (Saloma) Grusenbacher, Oakwood, and Mrs. Josephine
Herman, Adrian, Mich.
Mr. Byrne was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Ottoville and the Kalida
Knights of Columbus.
Services were in the church at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.

John C. Bendele
Rev. Roger Bonifas officiated at funeral services for John C. Bendele, 87, Ottoville, at 10:SO a.m. Monday
in Immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville. Mr. Bendele, who had been ill for some time died at 1:25 p.m.
Thursday in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
The son of Joseph and Mary (Miller) Bendele he was born on June 23, 1910, in Ottoville. He married
Aileen Wiechart and she died in 1945. He was married in Ottoville on November 8, 1958, to Angela
Wannemacher and she survives.

Mr. Bendele was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Holy Name Society of the Church. He
was employed as a mechanic.
Burial was made in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

Catheryn M. Pittner
Cathryn M. Pittner, 64, Ottoville, died at 7:45 p.m. Sunday in St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, following an
extended illness.
Mass of Resurrection was at 10:30 this morning, Wednesday, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church,
Ottoville. Rev. Roger Bonifas officiated and burial was made in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Ft. Jennings.
She was born on August 21, 1913, in Ottawa, to Louis and Mildred (Raabe) Boehmer. On June 24, 1936,
she married Andrew M. Pittner in Fort Jennings and he survives.
Also surviving are two sons. Nicholas, Columbus: James, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; four grandchildren: one sister,
Martha Boehmer, Fort Jennings. One brother, Elwood, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Pittner was a Democratic Central Committeewoman. She was also a member bf Immaculate
Conception Church, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia and the Altar Rosary Society.

Eva P. Wagner
Eva P. Wagner, 91, retired owner and operator of Eva Wagner Millinery Store, Delphos, died at 3:50 p.m.
Tuesday in St. Francis Home, Tiffin.
She was horn February 22, 1887, in Ottoville to Frank and Eva (Thessing) Geier. She married Roy
Wagner and he preceded her in death.
Surviving is a brother, Fred Geier, Delphos. Two brothers, Frank and William Geier and two sisters,
Cecelia Wannemacher and Rose Kramer, are deceased.
Rev. Dennis Metzger will officiate at the Mass of the Resurrection at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. John's Catholic
Church, Delphos; Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today, Wednesday, in the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home, Delphos,
where the parish wake service will be at 8:15 this evening.

Benjamin A. Grote
Benjamin A. Grote, 88, died at 9:35 a.m. Friday in Paradise Oaks Nursing Home, Cloverdale. He had been
ill for an extended length of time.
The son of John A. and Catherine (Horstman) Grote. He was born in Fort Jennings on April 9, 1890. Four
brothers, Louis. Josep, Henry and Frank along with three sisters, Minnie Grrgen, Bernadine Becker and Anna
Horstman all proceeded him in death.
Mr. Crote was a retired pipe fitter for U.S. Steel Company, Gary, Ind. He was a member of Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and was also a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.
Funeral Maas was at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the church with Rev. Roger Bonifas officiating. Burial was
made in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

William H. Schneeg
William H. Schneeg, 91, died at 12:05 a.m. Saturday in his home in Ottoville.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Immaculate Conception Cathoilic Church, Ottoville, of
which he was a member. Rev. Roger Bonifas officiated and burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Mr. Schneeg was born April 10, 1887, in Wetzel, the son of John and Mary (Mandery) Schneeg. He
married Christens M. Martin on September 7, 1915, and she survives.
Other survivnrs include two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Ruth) Storer, Archbold, and Dorothy V. Siebeneck,
of Florida; two sons, Walter, Mansfield, and Oscar H. Schneeg, Ft. Jennings; 19 grandchildren, one step
grandson: and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Schneeg was a retired farmer and carpenter.

Catherine Mary Hemmelgarn
Katherine M. Hemmelgarn, 85, Ottoville, died at 10 p.m. Sunday at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home
Coldwater.
Funeral Mass will be said a t 11 a.m. Thursday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, with
her son, Rev. Werner Hemmelgarn officiating. Burial will be made in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.
She was born on October 16, 1892, at New Weston to Herman and Catherine (Buehler) Backs. On June
16, 1914, she married Leo J. Hemmelgarn and he preceded her in death on September 20, 1974.
Survivors include six sons, Rev. Hemmelgarn, CPPS, Henning, Minn.: Ralph, Kettering: Arnold, Louisville,
Ky.: Cyril, Worthington: Louis, South Bend, Ind.: Robert, Dayton; four daughters, Sister Laurene CPPS,
Dayton; Mrs. Edward (Mary Kay) Dondero; Long Beach, Calif.: Mrs. Ralph (Esther) Link, Kettering: Mrs. Ray
(Ruth) Miller, Ottoville; 28 grandchildren: 13 great-grandchildren: one brother. Joseph Backs, Montezuma
Ohio. Five brothers and three sisters are deceased.
Mrs. Hemmelgarn was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Altar Rosary Society of the
church.

Dr. Coelestine F. Zahner
Dr. C. F. Zahner, 72, Sylvania, formerly of Ottoville, died at 7:16 p.m. Saturday at Flower Hospital,
Sylvania. He had been ill for an extended length of time.
He was born on November 25, 1905, in Ottoville, the son of Albert and Katherine (Bendele) Zahner. He
never married.
Surviving him are a half-brother, Hubert Plescher, route 2, Fort Jennings, and severa1 nieces and
nephews. Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
Dr. Zahner served during World War I1 as a navy ship physician. He was a graduate of Stihl College of
Osteopathy, Des Moines, Iowa, and was a physician in Ottoville for 30 years.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, where funeral mass was at 11 a.
m. Tuesday. Rev. Roger Bonifas officiated and burial was made in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

Elizabeth M. Wannemacher
Mass of the Resurrection was at 10 a.m. Friday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, for
Elizabeth Wannemacher, 96, formerly of Leipsic. She died a t 1:30 a.m. Thursday in the Delphos Memorial
Home. Rev. Roger Bonifas officiated the services and burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.
She was born on July 17, 1882, in Putnam County the daughter of John and Anna (Rekart) Odenweller.
On February 16, 1909, she was married to Alphonse J. Wannemacher and he preceded her in death in 1952.
Mrs. Wannemacher was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Sacred Heart League.

Irma A. Hurry
Mass of the Resurrection was 10 a.m. today in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Van Wert, for Irma A. Hurry, 81,
of Rt. 2, Convoy, who died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Van Wert County Hospital.
The Rev. Sylvester Schmelzer officiated and burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Convoy. She was born August
1, 1897, in Ottoville, a daughter of Henry and Agnes (Kortokrax) Honingford.
Survivors include her husband Fred, whom she married Feb. 4, 1926; a daughter, Mrs. John (Ann) Looser
of Rt. 1, Middle Point; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Bertha) Stetler of Van Wert and Mrs. Martha Rode of Delphos
and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Hurry was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers. She was a member of St. Mary's
Catholic Church, Van Wert.
Stanfield Funeral Home in Convoy was in charge of arrangements.

Donelda Horstman
Mass of the Resserrection was at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Barbara's Catholic Church, Cloverdale, for Mrs.
Donelda Horstman, route 1, Cloverdale. Father Herman Scherger officiated the services and burial was made
in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Horstman died at 12:05 last Wednesday morning in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born in Ottoville on July 7, 1913, the daughter of Joseph and Gertrude (Unverferth) Dickman. On
June 19, 1934, she married Bernard (Ben) Horstman and he survives.
Also surviving are five sons. Donald, Jackson, Mich.: Lawrence, Leonard, and Dennis, all of route 1,
Cloverdale: Jerome, Divine Word Seminary, Perrysburg: five daughters, Mrs. Walter (Janet) Maag, route 1,
Leipsic: Mrs. Art Jr. (Patricia) Rode, route 2, Spencerville: Mrs. Carl (Joan) Lehman, route 2, Ottawa: Mrs.
Ronald (Ruth) Foppe, route 4, Ottawa: Mrs. Norbert (Helen) Renner, route 1, Delphos: 42 grandchildren: three
sisters, Mrs. Aloysius (Lucinda) Horstman, Cloverdale: Mrs. Harold (Ladonna) Bendele, Sheperd, Mich.: Mrs.
Ray (Luealla) Maenle, route 2, Cloverdale: two brothers, Urban and Edwin, both of Sheperd, Mich. One sister
died in infancy.
Mrs. Horstman was a member of St. Barbara’s Church and the Altar Rosary Society of the church.

William W. Klima
William W. Klima, 64, Ottoville, died at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday. He was dead on arrival at the office of a local
physician in Delphos.
A native of Putnam County he was born in Ottoville on April 12, 1914, to Wenzel and Emma (Martin) Klima.
His mother survives in Tiffin. He was married in 1937 to Margaret C. Klausing in Ottawa and she survives.
Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Bertha) Spieles and Mrs. Louis (Sally) Klausing, both
of Delphos; Mrs. Gene (Catherine) Simmons, Lima three brothers, Anthony, Ottawa; Vincent, Delphos:
Leonard, Ottoville.
Mr. Klima was the owner and operator of Klima 1ivestock, Ottoville and served in the U.S. Army during
World War II.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, where Mass of the
Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Rev. Roger Bonifas will officiate add burial will be made in St. Mary's
Cemetery, Ottoville.
Visitation is after 7:00 this evening, Wednesday, at the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home, Ottoville.
Parish wake services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

William H. Gasser
William H. Gasser, Sr., 86, a retired farmer of Ottoville, died at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday in the Sarah Jane
Geriatric Center, Delphos. He had been ill for an extended period of time.
The son of Gebhart and Anna (Honigford) Gasser, he was born on August 1, 1892, in Putnam County. He
married Mary Ricker on April 25, 1917, in Ottoville, and she preceded him in death on April 9, 1966.
Surviving him are 11 daughters, Mrs. William (Anna) Knippen, Ottoville; Mrs. Moletus (Dorthy) Osting; Mrs.
Ted (Lavera) Hanf, Mrs. Joseph (Agnes) Knippen, all of Delphos; Mrs. Regina Boehmer, Mrs. Leonard (Leona)
Bruskotter, Mrs. Ralph ( Ladonna) Ostendorf, all of Ft. Jennings; Mrs. ED (Mary Ann) Grote and Mrs. Harold
(Delores) Rieman, both of Kalida; Mrs. Rita Miller, Warsaw, Ind.; Mrs. Eugene (Alvera) Kleman, Derby, Kan.;
two sons, Robert, Ottoville; William Jr., Ft. Jennings; 72 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; a brother,
Gebhart, Ottoville; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Beining, Ottoville. One son Arthur is deceased.
Mr. Gasser was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville, was a life member of the C. K. of
O. and was a member of the St. Joseph Society.
Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the church with Rev. Roger Bonifas officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

Adeline Miller, 74, who died at 3:30 p.m. Friday in St. Vincent's Hospital, Toledo. Rev. Roger Bonifas was
celebrated for the services and burial was made in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.
She was born on January 30, 1904, in Ottoville, the daughter of John and Cathrene (Deitering) Miller.
Survivors include one sister, Matilda Eickholt and a brother, Robert Miller, both of Ottoville.
She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Toledo.

Ludwig F. Weber
Ludwig F. Weber, 81, a former resident of Ottoville died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday at his son's home in
Wyandotte, Mich.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville
with Rev. Roger Bonifas officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in Ottoville.
Mr. Weber was a retired salesman for Food Marketing Corp., of Ft. Wayne.
He was born September 17, 1897, in Ottoville, to John and Rosalia (Gasser)
Weber. He married Mary Bedink in 1925 and she died May 12, 1942.
Surviving are live sons, Stanley, Wyandotte, Mich.; John, Ft. Wayne; James, Mesa, Ariz.; Louis, Delphos,
and Thomas, Glandorf: two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Marie) Lubelev; Merrimack, N. H.; and Mrs. Virgil (JoAnn)
Hohlbein, Ottoville; 25 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Miller, and a brother, Frank
Weber, both of Ottoville.
Mr. Weber was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Catholic Knights
of Ohio, and the Delphos Knights of Columbus. He also served on the Ottoville village council and the church
council.

Leo Joseph Deitering
Leo J. Deitering, Sr., 74, of rural Cloverdale, died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in his home.
He was born July 22, 1904, in Ottoville, to Henry H and Catherine (Beining) Deitering. He married Rosa, V.
Murray on June 22, 1927 and she survives.
Also surviving are eight sons, Roger, Brookville: Elmer, Piqua: Herman, Dayton: Thomas and William, both
of New Cleveland: John, Anna, Daniel, Toledo; Leo. Jr., Baltimore County, Md.: a daughter, Mrs. Gerald
(Marilee) Laudick, Upper Sandusky; a foster daughter, Mrs. Richard (Marguerite) Wolford, Van Wert, 41
grandchildren; five foster grandchildren: three great-grandchildren: two sisters, Mrs. Clara Koester, Ottoville;
Mrs. Isadore (Florence) Miller, Ottoville; and a brother, Rudy, Ottoville.
Mr. Deitering was a retired farmer and belonged to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at
Ottoville and the Holy Name Society of the church; He also was retired from GTE Sylvania in Ottawa.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the church with the Revs. Roger Bonifas, Louis Huffman and
Donald Mueller officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp
funeral home in Ottoville after 7 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
